It causes the pituitary gland to release hormones needed to stimulate ovulation (the release of an egg from the ovary).<\/p>\n<p>Clomifene is used to cause ovulation in women with certain medical conditions (such as polycystic ovary syndrome) that prevent naturally occurring ovulation.<\/p>\n<p>Clomid may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide.<\/p>\n<h2>Important in\u30d5\u30a9\u30fc\u30e0ation<\/h2>\n<p><b>Do not use Clomifene if you are already pregnant.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>You should not use Clomifene if you have: liver disease, abnormal vaginal bleeding, an uncontrolled adrenal gland or thyroid disorder, an ovarian cyst (unrelated to polycystic ovary syndrome), or if you are pregnant.<\/p>\n<h2>Clomifene side effects<\/h2>\n<p>Get emergency medical help if you have any <b>signs of an allergic reaction to Clomifene<\/b>: hives; difficult breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.<\/p>\n<p>Some women using this medicine develop a condition called ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS), especially after the first treatment. <b>OHSS can be a life threatening condition<\/b>. Call your doctor right away if you have any of the following symptoms of OHSS:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p>stomach pain, bloating;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>nausea, vomiting, diarrhea;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>rapid weight gain, especially in your face and midsection;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>little or no urinating; or<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>pain when you breathe, rapid heart rate, feeling short of breath (especially when lying down).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Stop using Clomifene and call your doctor at once if you have:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p>pelvic pain or pressure, enlargement in your pelvic area;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>vision problems;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>seeing flashes of light or &#8220;floaters&#8221; in your vision;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>increased sensitivity of your eyes to light; or<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>heavy vaginal bleeding.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Common Clomifene side effects may include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p>flushing (warmth, redness, or tingly feeling);<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>breast pain or tenderness;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>headache; or<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>breakthrough bleeding or spotting.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Usual Adult Dose for Ovulation Induction:<\/b><\/p>\n<p>50mg orally once a day for 5 days. Therapy should be initiated on or near the 5th day of the menstrual cycle, but may be started at any time in patients without recent uterine bleeding.<\/p>\n<p> If ovulation occurs and pregnancy is not achieved, up to 2 additional courses of Clomifene 50mg orally once a day for 5 days may be administered. Each subsequent course may be started as early as 30 days after the previous course and after pregnancy has been excluded.<\/p>\n<p> Most patients ovulate following the first course of therapy. However, if the patient fails to ovulate, a second course of 100 mg\/day for 5 days may be given as early as 30 days following the initial course. A third course of 100 mg\/day for 5 days may be given after 30 days, if necessary.<\/p>\n<p> Treatments beyond three cycles of Clomifene, dosages greater than 100mg once a day, and\/or course durations beyond 5 days are not recommended by the \u30e1\u30fc\u30ab\u30fc. However, successful pregnancies and term deliveries have been reported in women receiving up to 200 mg\/day for 5 days, or extended 10-day course of therapy, or consecutive cycles of treatment beyond
